Lauren Giles received her bachelor's degree in Africana Studies and Economics from StonyBrook University on Long Island, New York. Lauren also has her Master's Degrees in Education and History from Howard University and Buffalo State University respectively.
In addition to her formal education, Lauren has over 20-years experience mentoring and coaching both neurotypical youth and youth with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Additional populations served include teenage girls, at-risk youth, and homeless and runaway youth. For over 8 years, Lauren served as a Special Education Teacher in Maryland and Washington, DC while teaching social skills and emotional learning to children and young adults.
Lauren has championed in educational policy in our nation's capital, where she pioneered as a policy writer for students with and without disabilities throughout the District of Columbia.
Proven record of exceptional social skills training to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, neurotypical young ladies, at-risk youth, and youth with emotional disabilities. Services have been provided in the non-profit, public education, and private sectors. Lauren prides herself on being consistent in her dedication to youth for over 20 years.
Lauren discovered that she has a permanent disability due to a serious accident. Through her own personal struggles, she has developed an increased sense of empathy and greater desire to continue pursuing her dreams. By founding Socially, LLC, Lauren is committed to equipping young ladies of varying abilities, with confidence through social skills training. Young ladies will be prepared to use evidence based social strategies throughout their daily lives, making them competitive and self-secure as they navigate their individual life paths.
Lauren attributes her faith in the Lord as her daily strength.
